Ignite Realtime Bamboo Usage and Access

$

The Ignite Realtime Community has been happily and freely using tools generously provided by Atlassian on our Amazon Web Service hosted instances sponsored by Surevine. We recently announced a migration of Jira to Atlassian Cloud and this blog post denotes a change made to our Bamboo Instance. Atlassian Bamboo provides Continuous Integration (CI) for building and testing our software projects.

We previously were using Atlassian Crowd to provide user accounts to Bamboo and Jira. Since Jira is now in the cloud and we really don’t need non-admin accounts to access Bamboo, we have removed the crowd integration to Bamboo and are using local-to-bamboo accounts instead.

If you have an authenticated access need to Bamboo for plan running / modification, please let me know. I am reaching out individually to those I know need this access, but may have missed somebody  We will soon be spinning down our crowd instance to save on our AWS monthly spend!

Thanks for your time and interest in Ignite Realtime!

Openfire Pàdé 1.2.0 released!

$
0
0

The Ignite Realtime community announces the availability of Openfire Pàdé v1.2.0. This version returns Openfire Meetings (ofmeet) back to a single plugin with wrappers for all three Jitsi components (jvb, jicofo and jigasi). See the change-log for details

Support has been added to enable audio conferences in FreeSWITCH to be linked to Jitsi video conferences with the same names when the focus user joins/leaves the associated Openfire group-chats. You can configure your FreeSWITCH dialplan to allow SIP devices and phones to dial internal or external telephone numbers to join these bridged conferences.

Openfire Pade is a community effort and would not have got this far without the generous contributions of members. We say thank you to Guido Jäkel, Claude Stabile, ayushbhat and other contributors

Monitoring Openfire plugin v2.2.0 released

$
0
0

The Ignite Realtime community is happy to announce the release of version 2.2.0 of the Monitoring plugin, which provides support for chat archiving and server statistics to Openfire.

This update includes a good deal of improvements and bug fixes. Notable are:

  • Improved stability when running as part of an Openfire cluster.
  • Bugfixes in the Message Archive Management (XEP-313) implementation.

Starting with this release, the message archive functionality is fully based on the database tables maintained by this plugin again (in previous versions, the message archive for multi-user chat rooms were based on database tables managed by Openfire itself). This change might different identifiers to be used for messages in MUC archives, which might affect clients that have previously interacted with earlier versions of this plugin. Our tests with various commonly-used clients did not show any relevant functional issues stemming from this.

Your instance of Openfire should automatically display the availability of the update. Alternatively, you can download the new release of the plugin at the Monitoring plugin’s archive page.

The Ignite Realtime Community is pleased to announce the availability of version 4.6.1 of it’s Realtime communications server Openfire!

We are again grateful for all of the support that was provided to us, in no small amount through our community that is active in our chatroom and on our community forums!

We invite you to give this release a try. The process of upgrading from an earlier version is as lightweight as ever. It is outlined in the Openfire upgrade guide. Push Notification Openfire plugin 0.8.0 released

$

The Ignite Realtime community is happy to announce the release of version 0.8.0 of the Push Notification plugin for Openfire!

This update fixes a problem that prevented certain clients (like Siskin) from successfully register a push notification service.

Note that, after upgrading the plugin from an older version, Openfire will need to be restarted. This too is caused by a bug, that has been addressed in this new release (but one last restart is needed to remove remnants of the bug that was present in previous versions of the plugin).

As always, your installation of Openfire should automatically detect the availability of the update in the next few hours. Alternatively, visit the plugin archive page to download the plugin directly.

Openfire 4.6.2 is released

$

The Ignite Realtime Community is pleased to announce the 4.6.2 release of Openfire. For SQL Server users, this release contains an important fix that prevented a database upgrade script from working. Otherwise, the changelog denotes three other issues resolved. One change to note is a subtle difference on the Openfire administration console with how the version is reported in the upper right corner. For example:

ss

The git repository commit hash the build was based off of is included to provide a more definitive provenance of the version you are running. In this case, “b61bce3” refers to the merge commit for the 4.6.2 release.

Spark 3.0.0 Beta Released

$
0
0

The Ignite Realtime community is happy to announce the release of Spark 3.0.0 Beta version.

We decided to increase major version to 3.x to coincide with a complete UI refresh of Spark which was contributed by Amos. We are very much grateful for his incredible work. Along that Pade Meetings plugin was added by Dele. And a few other fixes and improvements by others. We wanted to have a few more items for this major version, like latest Smack library, Carbons support, JCEF, etc. But there are not enough time and contributors to get everything done. Hopefully will be added later.

As this is a major visual change and there are a few other changes under the hood, we decided to first do a Beta release and let it cook for a while. Feel free to test it and report any findings in the forums.

Pade Meetings (formerly SparkMeet) plugin is included in this release. You can find it in a chat window, a button with P letter. This plugin works with Openfire Meetings and enables audio and video chat. It was modified by Dele Olajide to use Electron technology. First time a user logs in using this version Spark will download required libraries into user’s profile (it is around 150 MB on Windows, so can take a minute to download).

Full list of changes can be found in the changelog.

We encourage users and developers to get involved with Spark project by providing feedback in the forums or submitting pull requests on our GitHub page.

You can download Spark Beta from the Downloads page. Below are the sha1 checksums:
